Happy Friday friends! I am home with a yucky stomach bug today. It has hit our family and my classroom! Gross!
I wanted to share a few October-y things we have been working on in the classroom. Last week we learned about adjectives. We starting off talking about pumpkins and coming up with words that describe the inside and the outside of them.
Afterwards, we used the apple craft from my Get Your Adjectives Here pack to make these pumpkins.
The kiddos had to choose 3 adjectives from our chart to describe their pumpkin.
You can download the “pumpkins are” recording sheet here.
Last week we also worked on story structure for our comprehension skill. We listened to Stellaluna on Storyline Online and then matched the story elements to the correct parts of the story using these cards and index cards folded in half. I used a large piece of construction paper cut in half to make the “tree limb” that Stellaluna is hanging from.
I love how these bats from Amy and Katie’s Rooted in Reading October pack turned out. They are adorable and super simple for the kiddos to put together.
Now, I’m off to eat some chicken noodle soup and lay on the couch! Sounds like an exciting Friday night huh?!
