Have I told you all how excited I am about summer?! I mean 12 more days and I can sleep in!! Hallelujah!
We have started a summer countdown chain in our room that looks similar to this one. I saw it weeks ago on Pinterest and knew I had to do! Not quite sure if it has been more helpful or more of a teaser but hey, it is getting the job done!

Although we are counting down our days,…we are still making every single count. We have been busy! Here’s a peek at last week!
Last week in language, we focused a lot on reviewing adverbs. We used this chart a lot during our review! Nothing fancy here..quick and simple was the name of the game last week!
For a quick little activity, the kiddos helped me create word lists on the board for adverbs that tell where, when and how. We wrote a few sentences on the board and identified the adverbs. Afterwards, I gave them a few sentence stems to get them going and they had to complete the sentences on their own using an adverb. I love how these turned out!
I love how this little love started with a very simple sentence and added a different adverb each time.
You can snag this little craftivity up {here} in my Get Your Adverbs Here pack. I just cut the sun in half and gave each kiddo 4 colored strips. They cut them to the size they wanted on their sun.
In phonics, we also worked a lot on suffixes –ful, –ly, and –y. I made these charts to hang in the room to help my kiddos out when identifying the root word and suffixes.
They are now suffix PROS after using Amy Lemon’s Prefix and Suffix freebie. You can find those {here}.
For math, we continued with our measurement studied and worked on capacity. I thought I would keep things clean and dry during our explore time for capacity, so….I brought out LOTS of manipulatives. I set up 4 stations (one for each table group). When they rotated to each station, they had to estimate and then count how many manipulatives would fill up the container.
They recorded all their estimations and actual measurements on their recording sheets….manilla style!!
I am off to eat some yummy dinner with my parents and in-laws! We have lots of Disney planning to finish up!!
