Oh my goodness, y’all. Is it really back to school time already? Cannot believe it! I’ve got a fun first day of school activity to share with y’all, but before I do I want to say THANK YOU for reading and supporting my “Back to School TPT Sale” emails. I know those can become annoying QUICK! Thank you for sticking with me through those. Hugging each of you.
Alright, let’s get started. Here’s my very favorite first day of school activity that I have used for years!
Look at that precious face! That’s my oldest…about 3 years ago. Isn’t she presh?!
This craft is pretty hilarious. What I love about it is that it can be used 3 different ways depending on the age of your students. Let’s take a look.
This is how I always used it. I love a good “hat-tivity“. My students illustrated (or wrote) about the events from our first day of school and sequenced them on the hat. If your students aren’t ready for those steps, simply have them make just the hat. My students loved wearing it home and sharing all about their first day of school activities!
Another option is to use the craft to make a book. There are different book pages included to offer differentiation depending on the level and age of your students. You could also take their picture and they could glue it inside the book – precious keepsake!
Lastly, is to use the craft with writing. These make a precious bulletin board display!
You can find this craft and all the options here!
Or pin it for later by using any of the pictures!
