Who’s excited about their 3 day weekend!??!?! Me too! There’s just nothing better than a 3 day weekend after the back to school hustle!
Last week I shared several of our first week read alouds. If you missed it, you can read about those here. Today, I want to share a few more of my favorite back to school read alouds with you all.
First up, Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun by Maria Dismondy. It is such an amazing book about treating others how you want to be treated. After reading it, we talked about The Golden Rule. We shared about times that we have treated others the way we wanted treated.
Y’all their spelling at the beginning of the year is just about as precious as can be!
We also read, Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon . This is another great book to read at the beginning of the year to discuss how to treat others and to accept each others differences. After reading, we wrote about what we like about ourselves. This response makes me giggle!
We read, Enemy Pie by Derek Munson and wrote recipe cards for ways to make friendship pie.
All of the activities above came from my Back to School Read Alouds pack here.
We also read, My Mouth is a Volcano and talked about ways that we can control blurting out. Afterwards, we completed this craftivity by Susan Jones at Thank God it’s First Grade.
I hope you all have a wonderful 3 day weekend with your families!
