All About Me Activities
All About Me Measurements – Quite possibly my favorite All About Me craftivity. Put a variety of non-standard measurement tools in the middle of the table group and let students pick and choose units to measure their finger, thumb, hand, arm, shoe, and leg with! Students create a portrait with crayons and/or construction paper. I love a good craft that allows students to use their imagination but ties in standards! These come with a face option and body option for self portraits and nonstandard and standard recording sheet options.
Measurement Tray – Throw a variety of manipulatives in a chips and salsa tray for students to easily grab for measuring! I get the trays from The Dollar Tree. One of the measuring standards for first grade is to measure with different nonstandard items and compare them. These trays are great for that!
Measuring Me by Nicola Kent is a great book to read before completing the measurement activity! You can find several more All About Me books HERE.
Marvelous Me Portraits – I love these! Perfect to send home to families. Students create a self portrait, glue it to the frame, add magnetic tape to the back and put it on their refrigerator! Precious! This is my favorite magnetic tape.
Marvelous Me by Lisa Bullard is a great book to read before completing this activity! You can find several more All About Me books HERE.
Adding Fingerprints – students use an ink pad or finger paint to add fingerprints!
Counting Fingerprints – students use an ink pad or finger paint to count their fingerprints! There are options for 1-5, numbers to 10, and numbers to 20.
Fingerprint Patterns – this is another fun activity to incorporate math into your All About Me unit!
All About Me Backpacks – These make adorable back to school bulletin board, hallway displays, and such a sweet keepsake for families. These could also be used for Open House or Parent Night!
Students can color the backpack printable if they are not quite ready for piecing together a craft.
Friendship Venn Diagrams – one of my all time favorite activities! Students compare and contrast their likes and differences. Students could use stickers or write their likes and differences. These always turn out PRECIOUS! I love them so much!
Name Activities – I have several name activities to incorporate into your All About Me unit! You can find them all HERE.
Class Name Graphs – another fun way to incorporate names into your All About Me unit!
