I’m linking up with Doodle Bugs to share 5 of my favorite things from this week!
I had big plans for my little priss’ school Valentine gifts this week. Our angel baby got RSV so things went from fab to simple real quick!
I kinda like how these turned out better!

We’ve been learning about coins in math, and y’all, Valentine’s couldn’t have come at a better time! Coins are just that much more fun when you can use them to buy things for your Valentine!
I started off by giving each kiddo a handful of coins. For this activity, I expected my kids to be able to identify the coin, value, and combine like coins to have a new value – example 2 nickels = 10 cents. I did not expect them to count all their coins and tell me the value. We are still working on skip counting with coins. We will get there! Just not ready yet! Baby steps.
Each kiddo had to choose either a heart or bookmark to get started. They then chose which items they wanted to buy to decorate their Valentine’s gift.
They sacked up their items and then went to work making their Valentine gift!
They loved it! I bought everything at Hobby Lobby a month or so ago when they had Valentine stuff on sale! I’m all about cheap and effective!
I always love to make these popcorn hearts each Valentine’s Day. The kiddos love to give these to their someone special! Between candy and parties, I didn’t snap a picture of one my kiddos made. This is the example I had on the board.
Have you read this devotional for girls? Oh my Larry, it is all that AND a bag of chips! You must get if you have a daughter!
