With March coming up tomorrow [February flew by], I wanted to share some March writing prompts with you all.
These prompts will make planning March writing a breeze.
With 7 different craftivities and over 40 writing prompts, this resource is a go-to for March writing prompts. Prompts cover how to writing, opinion, creative writing, and persuasive writing could easily be incorporated into one or more prompts. Each craft also comes with 3 different types of writing lines – an open box for beginners, single lines and triple lines. Let’s take a look at them.
Pot of Gold
For this writing prompt craftivity, students can write about how to be kind, use their creative writing with If I Found a Pot of Gold, persuade with My Wish or Lucky Me, and celebrate themselves by writing about how they are worth more than gold.
Leprechaun
These writing prompts are great to use as a follow up to any Leprechaun or St. Patrick’s Day read aloud. You could even use How to Catch a Leprechaun as a STEM follow up for students creating Leprechaun traps.
Bunny / Rabbit
How adorable are bunnies? Whether you are doing a non-fiction unit with rabbits, or reading bunny read alouds during Easter, there are several prompts that will work into your week.
Kite
Included with the Kite writing, is a lot of Spring prompts. Students can give their opinion on whether or not they like Spring weather and why, or they could incorporate their 5 senses into their writing to describe Spring. Lots of different options.
Lion / Lamb
Will March come in like a lion and out like a lamb? Here are some options for writing about March weather.
Butterfly
Also included in March Write-tivities is butterfly writing. Students can write facts about butterflies, the steps in the life cycle, or spring.
Frogs / Toads
Last, but not least is frogs/toads writing. There are lots of different options included for these as well. Students can write an acrostic poem about frogs or toads, life cycle, describe them, or creative writing with If I were a Frog.
