Meet the Teacher Ideas
Editable Forms– Keeping things seamless for families can be so helpful. Organize all the forms with a label on each students’ desk. Families can take a quick glance and know exactly what forms can be taken home and which forms need to be completed before leaving. Paperclip or staple the “Take Home” and “Please Complete Before Leaving” labels to the forms! Tip: put a pen on every student desk so families are not searching for something to write with.
Type a checklist of things you need your families to do before leaving on the Meet the Teacher Checklist. Again, this helps keep things seamless for families.
Everything is black/white to save on ink! Astrobrights is my favorite colored paper to use! I use it for everything – even crafts!
Here are a few examples of some of the forms!
I love that these forms are editable. Type in any header and/or text that you need.
There are prefilled forms and blank forms for grades prek, preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and fourth grade!
Turn In Signs – again, these make it seamless for parents. They can quickly see where forms need to be turned into. I like these 8.5 x 11 acrylic photo frames to display the signs! Definitely not necessary. You could tape the sign to the wall or desk with a basket in front for families to place the forms into.
Here are some of my favorite classroom organization totes and bins!
Student Gift Tag – This is a generic gift tag that can be used year after year with any gift! Copy the tag on bright colored paper and staple to a plastic gift sack or baggie. Some easy gift ideas are: glow sticks, candy, letter beads and pipe cleaners to make name bracelets, goldfish, popcorn, any fun pencils, erasers, pencil toppers, small toys, bubbles, building bricks, or any Target Dollar Spot items!
Contact Magnets – These have been a Meet the Teacher must since 2013. Fill in the template with your contact information, print on colored paper, laminate, and add magnetic tape to the back. Families can put these on their refrigerator! This is my favorite magnetic tape!
Banner & Coming Soon Signs – print the WELCOME letters and clip art on bright colored paper for a colorful display for families. Use the Spectacular Work Coming Soon sign on your bulletin boards!

FREE Supply Sorting Labels – These make sorting all the supplies ten times easier & faster. Use the labels for families and students to sort supplies. I recommend using the colored labels for younger grades. There are also black/white labels included. Tape the labels to any box, tote, bin, or table where you want the supplies to go. You can print these full size like above, or multiple labels to a page. Laminate the labels so you can reuse them year after year!
