New Years Writing Activities
Writing Craft – Quite possibly my favorite writing activities. I love a good craft that allows students to be creative while still staying focused on important writing standards. This New Year writing craft gives students a meaningful way to reflect on the past year, set goals for the year ahead, and practice sentence building – all in one engaging activity.
These are perfect for back-to-school after winter break, January writing centers, or a New Year bulletin board. The activity is easy to differentiate, making it ideal for kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade (or 3rd), and works well for whole group lessons, small groups, or independent writing time.
These make such a cute bulletin board or wall display! Students could also add glitter to the New Year ball!!

Writing Journal – simply print and go! This is included in my January Winter writing journal. It is full of prompts that are great for morning work, activities, directed drawings, and coloring pages. Perfect for daily writing practice or centers in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or Kindergarten.
