I love when it’s the time of the year to teach all things plants: parts of a plant, plant life cycle, plants needs, and the parts of a plant that we eat. Plus, you can incorporate other subjects into the standard, such as math! One way is through measurement. Today, I’m sharing parts of a plant measurement activities for kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade. Includes both nonstandard and standard measurement.

Students identify the parts of a plant and then estimate and measure each part using either nonstandard or standard measurement tools.
For nonstandard measurement students use a seed ruler. You could also use real life seeds!
For standard measurement, students use a standard ruler. There is a paper ruler that comes in the resource.
