Today was most definitely the Monday before Halloween. 🙂 The kiddos are on the countdown for endless amounts of sugar and dress up!! Honestly,.. so am I. Any excuse to devour piles of sugar makes me THIS HAPPY!! Today, we reviewed place value. During the middle of our little review lesson…I totally had one of those moments were you switch gears and revamp the lesson plans! Ever had one of those??? Love ‘um. Rather than building numbers the usual way, the kiddos had to build a number by creating a pumpkin! They had to write how many tens and ones their pumpkin had, along with a sentence of what their pumpkins place value was. I just love how these turned out. We have been working on timelines in Social Studies, so as a little extension activity, the kiddos created these *adorable* pumpkin timeline hats. We didn’t quite get finished with them today, so they will finish these up tomorrow. And as a little Halloween gift to you all….I am leaving you with this pumpkin filled freebie! Hope you can find some activities in it to use this week. Hopefully I’m not too late. {Click on the picture to download} Happy Monday friends!
