Free Antonym Activities
Hi, me again! I’m sharing two FREE antonym activities today! I shared this craft years and years ago, but I have revised it and make it printer friendly!
One of my favorite type of activities is one that gets students away from their desks and moving around the classroom. We did these Puzzles on the Move activities for years and years in my class. After introducing the skill and showing examples, give each student an antonym puzzle piece. Once they read their word, they will move around the room to find their partner with the matching antonym. I also have a homophone version of these cards, here.
You can download the antonym cards here.
Afterwards, students could create an ant with their antonyms.
I like to use small sticky notes for this activity. Kids love them! You could also use the blackline version and students can color/draw their antonyms.
I hope these free activities are helpful to you and your classroom!
