Tops or Bottoms?

This week we are wrapping up our plant unit. I am pretty sure that my kiddos are going to be way more successful than me when it comes to having a green thumb. Everything I plant….dies. It is a tragedy. I mean you would think after refreshing up on plant needs every year that I would be able to open up a vegetable stand or something, but notsomuch. Anyways, yesterday, my kiddos made these little plant flip craftivities about the needs of plants. I just love how they turned out. March_SmittenWithFirst-8 The kiddos had to draw a picture and label the 4 different needs of a plant under each leaf like so… March_SmittenWithFirst-6 March_SmittenWithFirst-7 You can get the Plants Need Flip Craft {here}. We also had some fun with taste testing yesterday. After reading this book: Tops and Bottoms by Janet Stevens TopsandBottoms we sorted tops and bottoms and once those were all complete…we began tasting! Slide23 Each kiddo got a carrot and a piece of celery to taste. The facial expressions were hilarious! Some were all smiles begging for more,…and some had the look of disgust! I mean! I actually had one little love tell me that they did not need to try them because they already knew they didn’t like the tops OR the bottoms of plants! Hilar! Looks like carrots (the bottoms) are a favorite in our room! March_SmittenWithFirst-13 …and we finished all our T.Rex Cottontails! Love how this little friend spelled “children”. March_SmittenWithFirst-3 March_SmittenWithFirst-4 You can pick up the T.Rex Cottontail freebie {here}. Happy Wednesday friends! Tomorrow is my Friday!!! WOOT WOOT!!!
