Happy Friday! It’s time for another Weekly Instagram Recap! Oh, and I’ve got a FREEBIE for ya’ at the end!
1.
Phonics Friends! They are my very favorite way to teach phonics and I used them for years when I taught first grade! If you’ve followed my blog for years, then you might already know what Phonics Friends are. If you’re new here, you can read about Phonics Friends here and see all of them here. Not kidding; these amp up the fun during phonics time!
Meet THE A TEAM Cheerleaders. AI stays at the mid field (middle of words) and AY stays at the end zone (end of words). They both say, “aaaah” as in YAY and they bring all the fun to an ai/ay phonics lesson! You can find them + all their activities and lesson plans, here.
2.
These Money Trees are a fun independent practice activity. My students always thought these were so funny because they would tell me that money really does grown on trees! They’re an oldie, but goodie AND great for those Spring bulletin boards! You can find these + several other coin activities, here.
3.
Last but not least, Friend-Diagrams! I love this activity for teaching compare and contrast. Pair students up and have them create their hair and face using the venn-diagram templates. They can also add their eye color by tracing around the eyes! I love it! Afterwards, students write how they are like their friend in the middle of the venn diagram and how they are different on the outside of the circle. You can download these FOR FREE on this post from a few years ago, here! There will be a link to download them in the blog post.
As always, I hope this Weekly Recap is helpful to you and your lesson planning! I hope you all have a fabulous week and weekend!
