Drugs Stink, Freebie, and a SALE!!

Ok, so, I don’t know bout y’all, but anytime I tell my little ones that something is a contest they are all over it! This week, the contest was a Drug Free poster! I always love doing these each year. The kiddos always get so stinkin’ excited to see our class poster hanging up in our school cafeteria. Well, this year, the contest had a HUGE incentive for the kiddos. The class that wins, gets $30. Oh yes! So of course, as soon as I said that they … [Read more...]

American Symbols and RTI

Last week we was all about American symbols. Here in Texas, we have TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) that we follow, which leaves me feeling left out of all the Common Core stuff. {sad face} As part of our TEKS for first grade, we are to explain the national patriotic symbols. Last week we worked the US flag, the bald eagle, and the Statue of Liberty. Y’all. My brain was on major overload this past week due to RTI, lesson plans, … [Read more...]

Classroom Management Linky

Hi friends! I am linking up with What the Teacher Wants to share how I do classroom management in my room. I cannot take credit for either of these ideas, but I had to share them because they are just that good!! When my amazing co-worker and blogging buddy, Shannon Kirby shared this idea with me of doing “Behavior makes Cents”…I knew I had to do it in my room. It is amazing. Check out her TPT store to snag it up. I also use Mel D.’s fuzzies … [Read more...]

Adverbs, Adjectives, and Mysteries!!

Well teacher blogger’s….I have yet to figure out how to upload a document to Google Docs and post on this little page for you all to have!….still workin’ on that! Friday “Try”day

So…I have refrained all week from posting anything with pictures. I knew if I tried posting anything that required me to upload and attach I was in for a night of long hours teaching myself how to do that! So, here I am on a Friday night watching the Disney channel with my little Rapunzel trying this all out. I’m telling you, I am so far from a computer expert! Thank Larry I didn’t go into the technology field!!! Enough of my rambles…on to what’s … [Read more...]

I’ve caught the bug!

Whelp,...it's official. I caught the blogging bug! I had a feeling I was going to catch it sooner than later when I noticed I had all the side effects...midnight snacks of cookies and milk, headaches from no sleep due to staying up all hours of the night just reading away, sore bottom from sitting in a chair for hours, swollen tummy from endless amounts of caffine, the Mr. telling me to turn the computer off and get to bed...and whelp all those … [Read more...]
