I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for some Five for Friday fun! 1. Today we worked on synonyms. I LOVED the turkeys Cara from The First Parade posted last year, so I knew I had to tie them in to something this month! Synonyms it is! I added a pilgrim hat to the top for the students to write their word on. After making a list of different synonyms for each word, they wrote their synonyms on the feathers! Don't Be A Turkey! … [Read more...]

Math-letes, Poetry and David Shannon!
We celebrated all that we have learned in Math this year with a MATH-LETE Day today! It was loads of fun and super busy! We played games and did a few crafts. Needless to say, I am pooped! We started off by making our Mathlete hats and writing what our favorite thing about math is! I had lots of my kiddos pick basketballs for their hats, but footballs and baseballs were huge hits too! You can download the hat template for free {here}. … [Read more...]

EXTREME Makeover: Center Edition
Ok, I am going to be real quick…the in-laws are headed over for dinner so I have some cleaning to do!! I recently updated my Surfin’ into Summer Literacy Centers from last year. Y’all, this file was so hard to look at while I was revising it! Terrible, blah, yucky, boring, and no directions! The old file was SO deserving of a 3.7 rating!! Seriously?? What was I thinking when I first started selling stuff on TPT?! Anywho, I have revised … [Read more...]
Tops or Bottoms?
This week we are wrapping up our plant unit. I am pretty sure that my kiddos are going to be way more successful than me when it comes to having a green thumb. Everything I plant….dies. It is a tragedy. I mean you would think after refreshing up on plant needs every year that I would be able to open up a vegetable stand or something, but notsomuch. Anyways, yesterday, my kiddos made these little plant flip craftivities about the needs of … [Read more...]
Classroom Management Linky
Hi friends! I am linking up with What the Teacher Wants to share how I do classroom management in my room. I cannot take credit for either of these ideas, but I had to share them because they are just that good!! When my amazing co-worker and blogging buddy, Shannon Kirby shared this idea with me of doing “Behavior makes Cents”…I knew I had to do it in my room. It is amazing. Check out her TPT store to snag it up. I also use Mel D.’s fuzzies … [Read more...]
